The Bishop’s Word

Greetings,

We thank God for His favor, grace and this awesome opportunity to serve as your Episcopal servants.  We are overwhelmed that God has granted us the privilege to be assigned to the Twelfth Episcopal District.

As we embark upon this new season in ministry together it is our desire to equip the body of Christ with relevant tools to serve this present age. We have a call to fulfill and a God to glorify. In fulfilling this call we shall focus on developing a ministry which will, “Lead Humankind to Eternal Life”.  In doing this we will work to equip the ministers and laity by focusing on:

  • Spiritual Development

Empower members to renew their faith and personal relationship with God through spiritual opportunities in worship experiences, forums and seminars.

  • Young Adult and Youth Retention

Implement opportunities to empower young adults and youth to become full participants in all aspects of our ministry. It is vital that the church provide young adults and youth with relevant experiences to explore their gifts and talents through spiritual growth and leadership opportunities in all levels of the church.

  • Evangelism

Provide training at Annual Conference and Episcopal District levels. This is the time to reclaim the zeal and zest of our predecessors by spreading the Gospel of Christ throughout the length and breadth of Arkansas and Oklahoma.  “It’s Crusade Time; a Revival is on the Way.”

Lastly, as we embark on this new journey we are extremely grateful to our predecessors, Bishop Richard Allen and Dr. Barbara Chappelle for their exemplary witness and model of ministry.  We thank them for the foundation and their legacy of service.  Their labors have prepared us for this new season.

Members of the 12th we believe the BEST is yet to come!

Peace & Love,

Bishop Samuel L. Green, Sr.
